this barn is over 100 years old and one of my favorite places to shoot in summer and fall. i use everything this location has to offer ; the fields, tall grasses, pathways and bridges. love this sweet family ! congrats on your 10 year !
one of my favorite places to do photo shoots in the summer and fall is the rustic old barn , located about 20 minutes from my beaverton studio . it’s perfect at sunset or early mornings for family portraits . the location has other amenities such as grasses, trees and a bridge , pathway and more , so i love the variety. i usually meet families at the barn . i let families bring a change of outfits and some accessories , and i bring a few simple props with me . we typically do at least 3 sets while on location including the whole family, individuals of the kids and some of the parents by themselves .
i typically prepare your images for viewing with an assortment of finishes including some straight out of the camera, regular back & white , natural finish, angel glow finish, morning haze finish , dusk finish and baby cloud finish . shown here are several newborn editing finishes that you can choose to have your own images done . my favorite ? black and white
springtime at gabriel park in sw portland. a fun family & maternity photo shoot . love this sweet family . i remember doing little one’s newborn portraits just a bit ago and here she is about to be a sister ! i got to use my new canon 70-200 f2.8 lens , and it it everything i was hoping it would be & more.
in january , it’s hard to do a photo shoot outdoors when it’s so nice and toasty warm inside. but on those days when i am brave enough and have customers who want outdoor winter sessions, i love to use the tualatin valley nature park in beaverton . i like the grasses and the variety of trees here , plus there are cedar fence posts and train tracks to add interest and i love to use those . this maternity photo session was gorgeous . her pink gown was perfect for some wind blown shots and looked soft against the harshness of the landscape .
outdoor belly portraits are some of my favorite sessions especially on location in this beautiful field of wheat . summer time is the best ! i love how the grasses soften the edges of the portrait and how the light filtered through the trees at 7-8 in the morning. i am not typically a morning person so it takes either a lot of coffee or a great photo shoot location and perfect lighting to get me motivated that early . it was sooo worth it !
